Jonathon is starting to 'talk' and he has a lot to say. Nobody can understand quite what he is saying but that doesn't dissuade him from trying. The process of him emerging from a quiet newbornness into a loquacious infanthood has happened over the past month or so. A few weeks ago he started 'reading' his own books to us instead of just sitting quietly while we read. Then he began to carry on conversations with Ryan and I in the mornings lying in bed, very passionately describing his dreams of the night before. Soon I began to hear him conversing with various toys and a small mirror attached to his swing. BUT the grandaddy culmination of his communication endeavors began yesterday when he had his first conversation with a friend, Griffin. They talked, cooed, smiled and squirmed though their first heart-to-heart chat in the most endearing way. It is amazing that there are so many forms of communication that don't involve language.
